Modara
Fest for Contemporary Music
“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is Modara. I’ll meet you there.”
The Trickster Orchestra’s festival for contemporary music, Modara, celebrates ambiguity and cultural transformation in music. Rumi’s idea of Modara is a place of intense encounter and dissolution of the self into something completely new. The festival embodies this utopian place of unity and presents revolutionary musicians that create transcultural art music transcending boundaries and merging traditions, genres, and instruments into new musical experiences.
The festival begins with several improvisation sessions all over Berlin, before concluding with two days of concerts at Heimathafen, Neukölln.
